Most of my time in France has been spent in one place.

Not because there isn’t more to see—but because I haven’t felt the need to leave.

Paris has been enough.

I’ve been back to Paris dozens of times.

Paris is where I learned how I actually want to travel.

In Paris, doing nothing is as important as doing something. An afternoon on a green metal chair, or by the river, counts as time well spent. No one will rush you. No one will judge you.

That’s why this page isn’t really about France in the way you might expect.

It’s about starting with Paris—and experiencing it well.

Because once you understand how to do that,
everything else in France becomes easier to approach.

If you want to experience Paris differently

After returning again and again, I wrote something I wish I had earlier: Experience Paris: Finding the Joy of Slow Travel. It’s a collection of my favourite spots in the city where I like to escape the crowds and just be.

Planning a trip to Paris

Even after multiple visits, Paris can be surprisingly difficult to plan well.

Not because there isn’t enough to do—but because there’s too much. And most travellers want to know the secret spots. Most of the questions I get are from travellers who have already been.

They’re not asking what to see.
They’re trying to figure out how to experience Paris differently this time.

If you’d like help shaping your itinerary—where to stay, how to structure your days, and how to make the trip feel more like your own—I offer personalized trip planning.
