I’ve been known to plan my entire destination around finding the perfect accommodation, and this Airbnb definitely falls into that category.

Where to Stay in the Eastern Townships?
The Eastern Townships in Quebec is an absolute gem, and there is so much to be explored! With its quaint villages, vineyards, rolling hills, and charming countryside scenery, this area of Quebec is undeniably charming.
This area is an hour’s drive from Montréal – and is centrally located near 2 of Canada’s capital cities. Drive three hours west to Québec City, or two hours in the opposite direction to Ottawa. It borders Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, making it an easy getaway destination for American travellers too.
Add to your itinerary and explore the charming neighbourhoods of Montreal while visiting the Eastern Townships.
Visitors come to this area for the incredible hiking, biking, skiing, and boating, as well as, gourmet food and wine experiences. Â

The Bolton-Est house sits up high on the side of a mountain amongst the treetops and rock. Its incredibly steep terrain gives the house’s modern exterior a more sculptural appearance.
The unique design of the much wider upper level is cantilevered over the narrower lower level. This architectural gem uber cool design element gives the entire house a geometric silhouette against this natural setting.
Bolton-Est House features two entryways- one through the lower level of the carport and the second is a curved slate staircase carved through the rock. An added bonus, the Bolton-Est House is dog-friendly.
The Exterior – Airbnb Bolton Est
With the house being perched up high on the mountainside it offers the most stunning panoramic views – perfect for sunrise and sunset watching.
Nestled against the granite rock and trees on the upper level of the property is a long modern picnic table perfect for al fresco dining. It’s positioned perfectly to watch the sun slowly fade behind Mount Orford.
Adjacent to the outdoor dining is the open fire pit. There is something so quintessentially Canadian to gather around a fire on those lazy summer evenings or autumn’s crisp cool days. Smores anyone?
High on the summer relaxation spectrum is the solitude of lounging in a hammock. Perched up high on the rock and suspended between two tall shade trees let the gentle swing and sway melt any stresses away. And, take in those views!
It is so serene to watch the fog and mist roll through the mountaintops. The only sounds you will hear are that of the wind through the trees, the many different bird songs, and the ‘hoo hoo hoo’ of the owls. Peaceful and tranquil are exactly what you will find here.
The lower level of the exterior space has it all! Dip in the saltwater pool, relax and watch the clouds float by. Pure bliss!
Sit and stay awhile. It will be hard to tear yourself away from this view. It’s the perfect spot to watch an early sunrise and a slow setting of the sun in the evening.
The Interior – Airbnb Bolton Est
Step inside and find an even more dramatic space. Beyond the awe-inspiring views, the space offers some serious design goals. It’s a great mix of different styles and eras. Expertly, every detail, object, texture and piece of furniture has been perfectly chosen. Although the space is modern, it has a very relaxed, worn-in feel.
Horizontal strip windows in the living and dining spaces frame the wooded mountain range and valley so perfectly. The floor-to-ceiling wall of windows with a walkout looks directly onto Mount Orford. It is light and bright all day long, even on the darkest days.
The space has great geometric lines. From the vaulted ceiling the angled lower ceiling in the kitchen. And, the black highlights the striking contrast.
A custom-built galvanized steel wood-burning fireplace and built-in cabinet sit in the middle of the space hiding the stairwell leading to the lower level. The cabinet features a large-screen pop-up TV.
The fully outfitted kitchen includes high-end appliances like a Wolf range, Liebherr fridge and Miele dishwasher; and a Silgranite Black Blanco sink. Even the dishware is locally sourced pottery, in a modern Scandinavian design.
Bolton-Est is a 2-bedroom + 2-ensuite bathroom house with a ton of storage. This large bedroom is located on the upper floor. It features a king-size bed with lux bedding – linen sheets, a down feather duvet – giving you the ultimate good night’s sleep.
