Best Place to Stay in Verona, Italy

I stayed at the Lady Capulet Apartments during my time in Verona, and it felt like stepping into a carefully curated retreat designed with both charm and sophistication.
Tucked away just a short stroll from Piazza Bra and the heart of Verona, this boutique property has all the modern comforts with timeless Venetian elegance.
I stayed in the “Duchess” apartment. It’s a split-level loft style with a large bedroom and sitting space with an equally large bathroom. Exposed wooden beams framed the ceiling and overlooked the open-plan living and kitchen space. This opened up onto a balcony, and all I needed was a Romeo on this trip to fully enjoy it (sadly, he was at home in Canada).

4 Lady Capulet Apartments to choose from:
- The Baroness: Ideal for solo travellers or couples seeking a cozy space for shorter stays.
- The Countess: A great choice for solo travellers or couples looking for a stylish and comfortable retreat.
- The Duchess: Perfect for couples planning a longer stay, with added space and amenities to make it feel like home. (where I stayed)
- The Empress: Designed for families or couples travelling together, offering generous space and thoughtful accommodations for group stays.
Highlights of Lady Capulet Apartments:
- Prime location: Ideally situated in a quiet area away from the crowds, yet just a short walk to Verona’s top sights and attractions, as well as the train station, giving you lots of options for day trips.
- Exceptional hosts: When I encountered an issue with my key card after a late dinner, someone arrived on a bike within five minutes to assist—such great service.
- Convenient early check-in: Arriving in Verona at 9 a.m. from Milan, I was able to drop off my luggage early. Not only was it securely stored, but it was delivered to my room once it was ready while I was out exploring the city.
- Spacious and comfortable: The apartment offered plenty of space, making it an ideal choice for a couple looking to relax.
I highly recommend the Lady Capulet Apartments and would stay here on a return visit to Verona.
Other Best Places to Stay in Verona, Italy

These are the places I had saved to my favourites while searching for the perfect stay in Verona. While they didn’t make the final cut or were already booked by the time I was ready to book, I still wanted to share them with you.
I’ve listed them from least to most expensive, so you can get a sense of your options based on your budget.
Where I Recommend You DON’T Stay in Verona

I had originally booked a two-bedroom apartment in Verona, only to receive a notification four weeks before my trip that the booking had been cancelled due to a double booking error. The last-minute cancellation caused a lot of unnecessary stress as I scrambled to find alternative accommodations. To top it off, the refund exchange rate of Euro to Canadian dollars meant I was out of pocket, only adding to my frustration.
Here is the accommodation in Verona that I don’t recommend.
Looking back, though, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. After seeing the location in person, I realized that the apartment I had initially chosen was not ideal. I prefer accommodations with a more local vibe, being tucked away on a quiet street, rather than right in the heart of the city, surrounded by top touristy things to see and do.
