Our lives have not been the same since the pandemic. It has hit us hard, from the lockdowns to severe restrictions, we’ve experienced some tough times. Our physical and mental health have taken a toll. Now is the time to start taking our happiness seriously. I was first introduced to hintercompany, the company behind hinterstudio, when I stayed at one of their beautiful spaces. Most of us lead such busy and demanding lives – where for 24/7/365 – we feel the pressure to go further, faster and to excel. It’s a lot of pressure we put on ourselves and no wonder we feel a little drained and exhausted. We crave that need to escape, to reconnect and focus on our physical and mental health. Self care and personal resiliency are now a necessity and something we can no longer neglect. 

When it comes to my personal life, I can admit, the pandemic hasn’t been easy. As an avid runner and yogi for decades, I suddenly started to make excuses for not making the time. The slow and subtle build up of stress reached a breaking point. I knew I lost my joy.

A game changer was taking a class at hinter studio. One class, and I was hooked. Something just clicked inside of me, and I am slowly finding my way back out of the pandemic fog.

What I love most about hinter studio is…

Sound healing was new a new experience to me, but now that I've tried it, I can't live without it. Essentially it uses sound frequencies to slow down your brain waves to a deeply restorative state, which activates the body's system of self-healing. Holly, the instructor at hinter studio, plays a variety of crystal bowls to create soothing sounds and vibrations. Not only is it super relaxing, it also clears any energic blockages, improves sleep and reduces stress and anxiety. It has become my new bedtime ritual giving me a peaceful night's sleep.
HIIT with Jason
If you've never done a HIIT workout before, you need to start. Simply, it involves short periods of intense exercise alternated with recovery periods. Perfect for those that want maximal health benefits in minimal time. Trust me, you will see results in just a couple of weeks. What I love about Jason's classes is his infectious energy.  He shows you how to modify each exercise based on what level you are at. It's like he is right there in your living room with you- giving you pointers about positioning and intensity from start to finish. He's motivating and encouraging making sure you push yourself in a safe non-injury way. 
plant care with Steph

Plant care with Steph makes me be a better plant parent. It’s true! Her videos are around the 2-3 minute mark focusing on sharing her best tips to indoor gardening. My plants have never looked so good. She inspires the green thumb in me. Indoor gardening is experiencing a surge of popularity. Everyone is surrounding their spaces with plants. Maybe because we know it helps to reduce stress and are therapeutic in boosting our mood. Not only do they look good in our spaces, they improve the air quality too.

I've practiced yoga for over a decade, and that means a lot of yoga teachers. Some forgettable and some unforgettable. Stella falls in that special latter category. Her classes are transcending, making you feel so good afterwards. Yoga is accessible to anyone- no matter the age or body shape. She reminds you of that- no judgement, just go to the the level you are at. The older I get, the more I appreciate yoga. It's great for improving my strength, balance and flexibility. Namaste.

    Great, that hinter studio helped you to find more balance in life again. I also took up Yoga and I went to the climbing gym more often to stay healthy, mentally and physically.     As alwys with me it’s ” when do I find time to do that”, something I am working on as I never seem to have enough time for everything I want to do.

    I guess the yoga classes stand out for me – as a way to calm down and get some relaxation in my mind.

    I like the idea that the Hinter Co plants 50 trees per booking at the Palm resort to help offset air travel carbon emissions. That appeals to me greatly. Sri Lanka is on my list form my next Asia trip so will look up this resort. Very interesting article on the value of the classes.
