WELCOME TO EASTERBROOK
The Heart of the Home
The kitchen is open to a sitting and dining area. The French country kitchen features a large butcher block island, original wood cabinetry, and exposed shelves displaying pretty glassware and ceramics. It has all the modern conveniences you might ever need, even a wine fridge. And, a must have in every French country kitchen – copper pots and pans.
The small sitting area features three wing back chairs, covered in French linen grain sack, snuggled beside a wood burning stove. This is the perfect spot to enjoy a pre dinner drink, after all, you are in wine country.
The dining area features a long harvest table with French country cane style chairs. A vintage hutch anchors the space. Soft light streams in through the large windows making this entire space light and airy throughout the day.
The Living Room
The original wood planked floors carry through to the spacious living room adjacent the main space. In the center of the room is a large stone wood burning fireplace with two comfy sofas flanking either side. Two accent bergère chairs sit in front of the large window facing the front of the house, making it a perfect reading nook.
The Breeze Way
A new addition to the original farmhouse is the breeze way. It not only connects you to the Bunkie, but it also gives you another entrance from the front and back of the house. Vintage lockers act as closets and bins and baskets keep all shoes and other items neatly tucked away. Natural light pours into this room all day long.
Now for the show stopper…the Bunkie. Where modern meets vintage – and it works! Polished concrete floors, modern furniture and accents compliment the vintage charm. This sizeable space offers guests a king size murphy bed, a full bathroom with washer and dryer, a wood burning stove and a comfortable seating area. As well, there is a wall of terrace doors that open up onto a wrap around deck.
The upper floor features 3 bedrooms. The first room is the yellow room, with a double bed, next the pewter room with a queen size bed. Lastly, one enormous bedroom that will be every child’s dream. It features four single beds with a large floor space in the middle to play. And play time includes a great selection of board games, books, and two antique doll houses.
Easterbrook has three full bathrooms. Two on the main floor with walk in glass showers, and one on the upper floor with an original clawfoot tub.
French Country Details
French country isn’t a ‘less is more’ kind of style. It’s definitely all about the details. And, that’s just what Easterbrook offers. Nothing is perfectly polished, rather, finishes feature a weathered appearance with subtle distressing for a lived-in feel. Blending old with the new.
PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY
Prince Edward County has quickly become the sought-after destination for a quick getaway as it’s only a couple hours east of Toronto and couple hours west of Ottawa. And why not? The County offers so many eateries, wineries, craft beer, ciders and spirits. Antiques, boutique shops and galleries fill the charming towns of Wellington, Bloomfield and Picton. Lastly, beach lovers flock to Sandbanks Provincial Park for the spectacular sand dunes, sandy beaches and natural views of Lake Ontario.

Easterbrook is situated in the area in The County known as South Shore. It’s made up of farms, tiny hamlets of Cherry Valley, Milford and Black River. Being a bit removed from the popular areas in The County, if you seek solitude and natural landscapes this is the place to go. Also, it’s the (temporary) home of migrating birds, where the sights and sounds, especially the warblers, are abundant.
The best kept secret in The County is just minutes from Easterbrook – it’s Point Petre. Enjoy the pebble beach and the flat limestone ledges leading you out to the crystal clear water of Lake Ontario. It’s the perfect spot for sunrise and sunset watching.
